Reflecting the conflicting histories of his home state of California, McCormick has developed a striking visual language that explores the nostalgia of a fabled past with the contemporary realities of poverty and strife in Downtown Los Angeles. By fusing chromatic landscapes, Western heroes, cowboys, and contemporary popular culture, McCormick's work embodies the true spirit of America, while offering commentary on the human condition, replete with renegades, risk takers and outlaws. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in New York, Hong Kong, Miami, London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Aspen, and San Francisco. McCormick lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
